Submit Songs Info:
SongQuarters is the world's most extensive tip sheet for songwriting leads in the music industry.
A tip sheet gives you information on which of the world's top artists are looking for songs and how to submit yours.
It is an absolute necessity for every songwriter or music publisher with professional intentions to subscribe to a great tip sheet, because it will:
- Tenfold your opportunities! -
The number of leads a tip sheet can provide is outstandingly much greater compared to what any individual publisher or songwriter can manage.
- Get You Straight To The Action! -
Instead of randomly chasing through the wildfire of the music business and calling labels based on assumptions, let a reliable source get you to the action.
- Make Contacts! -
Extend your song pitching network. A tip sheet shows you who is involved in the upcoming productions around the globe. Find co-writers, new partners and multiply your possibilities.
- Make money! -
Only one pitch will single-handedly cover a life-time of tip sheet subscriptions. Don't let your hits stay on the shelf any longer. Capitalize on your songwriting.
- Save time! -
Conventional song pitching is an extremely time consuming endeavor. Make a count of all the hours spent on chasing leads and put a price tag on it - any tip sheet fee is a tiny fragment of that cost.
Warning! Songwriters, beware of your publishers tip sheet subscriptions! Consider any publisher without a pitch sheet subscription to be a less serious publisher that will hear the news last and keep missing massive amounts of opportunities.
The songwriting leads at SongQuarters show:
- Who is looking for songs
- What style of music is wanted
- Which person to contact incl. all contact information needed
- How to submit (by email or post, number of songs, max MB etc.)
- Song samples
+ Other essential information such as deadlines, release history, chart positions, web sites etc.
SongQuarters offers more songwriting leads than any other tip sheet.
Here follows a few reasons to what more makes SongQuarters unique:
- All leads are provided directly from the source. -
SongQuarters stands in personal contact with all lead providing A&R/management offices and will always be able to tell you from who to who, when and how the lead was provided.
Beware of tip sheets that simply send out mass requests, copy leads or base their leads on third party information. Inaccuracy will waste your reputation and time. If a tip sheet appeals to their subscribers "that you do not quote <…> as your source of information", you will know for sure that their service is unreliable and badly updated.
- The world's Top 500 artist's recording status. -
Every 3 months, a call is being made to 500 offices worldwide to constantly monitor the recording status of the world's Top 500 artists, to assure that you to not miss a quality lead. Therefore, 60% of all SongQuarters leads will only appear on SongQuarters.
If you have a song with a specific artist in mind, this also gives you the opportunity to search the Artist Tracker to find out where in the recording cycle the artist is.
- The companionship with HitQuarters -
SongQuarters belongs to the same family as HitQuarters, which features the HitTracker, the largest directory of A&Rs, managers, producers and publishers including credits. This keeps SongQuarters in close connection with the world's most successful music industry ventures.
Through the HitQuarters artist pages and A&R Panel submissions, there is frequent contact with the hottest new artists. Several of them were looking for songs at SongQuarters before they were signed to one of the majors.
but most important of all…
- SongQuarters uses a music publishers working method! -
This means, SongQuarters goes hunting!
SongQuarters work as a publisher, while other tip sheets use the working method of a publication, thus waiting for someone to post an ad. At the height of effort they might call or mass mail their already existing network to remind them to inform them of new leads.
However, this is not SongQuarters melody. In addition to reminding the known network, SongQuarters is hunting leads! SongQuarters is actively approaching all successful offices, and new offices, in the hunt for songwriting opportunities.
SongQuarters target which offices are most likely to benefit you. It is SongQuarters duty to find you the new Britney Spears, the next Mary J Blige, the successor of 50 Cent, the upcoming Tim McGraw, and the follow-up to Il Divo. Every reputable music producing office in the world won't have to wait long to get a call from SongQuarters.

Performing Right Organisations
Performing right organisations (PROs) are businesses that represent songwriters and publishers and their right to be compensated for having their music performed in public.
Considering, for example, there are 8 billion public performances in the UK every year there is no question that the collection of royalties due from these can be handled by a songwriter or composer single-handedly, and so must be carried out by a third party- a performing right organisation. In the USA an artist can choose between three, BMI, SESAC and ASCAP. In most countries the choice is usually limited to one.
Once the artists have signed to a PRO, the organisation will then negotiate with the users of the artists' copyrights the royalty rate to be paid for such use.
By securing a blanket license from a PRO, music users (such as television and radio stations, auditoriums, pubs or bars, hotels or theme parks) can legally play any song in their library. Without a license, they would risk the dangers of copyright infringement. The cost of the licence can depends on a wide variety of factors, such as the size of the venue, box office receipts, or whether the music is being used to attract customers (DJs for example) or merely as background.
PROs also collect performing right income from other countries around the world. Most foreign countries have at least one and they will pass on royalties generated by foreign performances to the relevant PRO to distribute to its members.
The PRO is also in charge of calculating and paying out the royalties due to its members. This payment would normally include a deduction to pay for the administration costs of the organisation. These administrative duties include tracking of public performances by researchers. As it would be impossible for even dedicated researchers to track down the billions of public performances every year, market research and statistical models are also used in order to carry out the operation as efficiently and accurately as possible.
These efforts are not necessary when dealing with the major television stations and the larger commercial radio stations, as they are expected to provide detailed reports of all the music that they have played. The smaller TV and radio stations are usually only monitored on random days in a year, and these listings are then taken as being representative of the station's entire output.
The PRO pays out royalty distributions to its members on regular dates throughout the year. PRS and ASCAP for example, currently both pay out four times a year.
